FAQ
Here’s a bunch of FAQ’s about my breast augmentation:
-Who was my doctor?
It’s Dr. Back in Cherry Hill (I know there’s a lot of advertisers on Wired but MY plastic surgeon is Dr. Back so don’t get it confused!) His number is 1800MAKEOVER
-How much was my procedure?
Mine was 7 grand but you really have to go in for a consultation because everyone is going to vary in price and procedure (the consultation is free. You can call Dr. Back at 1800MAKEOVER)
-How big did I go? I went from a 32 A to now, a 32 D (depending on the bra). I got 325 cc size implants filled to 335 (left boob) and 375 (right boob)
*Keep in mind….just because you might be a 32 A now, you might not be getting the same size and cc of implants as me.
– How much time did I have to take off?
I actually took off Friday and the following Monday but I could have definitely gone to work that Monday. I was off my prescription pain meds by the third day and just on regular Tylenol. If just feels sore and you are uncomfortable sleeping so I slept on a lazy boy.
- How long after they feel normal and a part of your body? It took me about 4 months for them to feel like my own boobs
– Where did I get my incision?
Mine is on my crease, under my boob. For two reasons, Asian skin has a harder time healing from scars so I definitely did not want to go under my armpits because I’m always wearing tank tops and didn’t want to feel insecure about lifting my arms. Under my crease is perfect because you can’t see it unless I lift my boob up.
-Did I get Saline or Silicone?
I went with Saline because even though Silicone is back and FDA approved, it’s not great at exact measurements. With me, I had to fix my un-even natural boobs and in order to do that, Dr. Back had to be more precise with my CC measurements and Silicone doesn’t allow for that.
-When looking for a doctor, look for the following:
He’s board certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgery, talk to patients that have had their implants for over 10 years to see if they’ve had any problems, make sure their office facility is clean, double check medical records and backgrounds, there’s a lot of services that you can pay to get an extensive background search on a plastic surgeon, determine whether or not you’re more comfortable getting the surgery done at a surgical center or at a hospital, near an ER. I went with the latter. (I really encourage everyone to do their research) I did a lot before I choose Dr. Back and I would definitely go back to him again!
Besides having all the credentials, Dr. Lyle Back is awesome!! I knew right away that he was going to be my surgeon. After consulting with tons of other docs, I just loved the way Dr. Back focused on me, what I should expect from the surgery, he examined photos of boobs I loved and hated from pages I pulled out in magazines, and he was confident in himself and supportive of my thoughts and opinions. Through this process, I’ve found that most plastic surgeons have egos and they criticize others in the area. In my opinion, if you know you are the bomb and the best doctor around, there’s no need to criticize others! Just stick to my needs and wants and that’s exactly what Dr. Back did.
