Last night, I had dinner with my bf’s mom, grandmom, and friend. We took them to Swanky Bubbles (old city) cause we were craving sushi and I’m in love with their Lychee martini. The plate above is a collection of all my favorite rolls, recommended by my friend Ryan Dorsey, who also runs Swanky! He’s the MAN!! The sushi, OMG!! TO DIE FOR!! I was in sushi heaven.
My bf’s mom had the filet which is awesome too. Great night, great company, and delicious food.

I saw this recipe today and I’m stoked to make it this weekend. It seems SO EASY!! Thanks Rachel Ray!!
Swirlberry Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup frozen strawberries, thawed and halved (about 3 ounces)
- 2/3 cup frozen raspberries, thawed (about 3 ounces)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Salt
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
Directions:
- In a small saucepan, combine the strawberries, raspberries, 1/4 cup sugar and a pinch of salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring, and cook until jam like, about 10 minutes. Let cool, cover and refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream, milk, remaining 1/4 cup sugar and another pinch of salt until the sugar is dissolved; cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Using an ice cream machine, process the cream mixture according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Fold in the chilled berry mixture to make a swirl pattern and then transfer to an airtight container. Freeze until firm, about 4 hours.

I’ve been eating Raisin Bran because SOMEBODY told me it was healthy. I don’t even like Raisin Bran! Turns out, it’s one of the worst brands to eat!
This is what the article on Yahoo! says:
It’ll be hard to find a more sugar-loaded cereal than Raisin Bran. It’s sweeter than even Lucky Charms, Reese’s Puffs, or Cocoa Krispies. Some of that sugar can be attributed to the raisins’ natural blend of fructose and glucose, but the real culprit is the sticky white armor of sucrose that enrobes each piece of fruit. Both Kellogg’s and Post are guilty of this raisin mistreatment, so what should be a legitimately healthy bowl of fruit and grains pours out closer to a candy-coated dessert.

I just tried this Raptor bar this morning and it was disgusting! Literally tasted like someone had threw up in my mouth! DO NOT BUY! No wonder why ProSource.net was giving it away for free. BLAH!

So Chio has been talking my ear off about his restaurant of the week, Max & Erma’s (gift certificates are half price right now) and he swears their banana cream pie is the best. Well, I’m trying it this morning for breakfast and ….O-M-G! To die for!!! Yummy

I’m so mad there’s no Jamba Juice around here!! I love JJ …maybe it’s a West Coast thing. I saw this coupon and want to use it! Don’t get me wrong, I do love my Rita’s, Phileo Yogurt (on South St.) and Sweet Endings (across from Continental on Chestnut) too it’s just that… I want JJ right now! Maybe it’s the coupon that’s enticing me!
